Route character and route marking
There was a lot of difficult navigation through built-up areas on this tour, especially through Arles, NImes and Avignon (including Sorgues). This was not helped by the fact that route marking arrow stickers were missing in critical parts of the tour. This was frustrating. The day loop through Chatuea Neuf Du Pape was poorly stickered once back on the western side of the loop and one of the instructions about ’with the canal on your left’ should have been ’with the canal on your right’.The back-up from Marco of GiroLibero was excellent even though the requested e-bike was not delivered on Day 1. Apparently there was some communication breakdown.
