Fabulous Scenery
We very much enjoyed the route and our hotels and appreciated being dropped off at the train station in Porto after the tour. JP from Viniturs set us up quite well at the beginning of the tour. However, we had one bicycle that was too large and not what we ordered. Vinitur switched that bike out half way through the trip. Also, the one larger bike was essentially a mountain bike fit for a man. It was not a hybrid as promised. The seats were very narrow on all of the bikes and particularly uncomfortable. Typically, in our previous tours, our hybrid bikes have had wider seats and narrower handlebars. Also, the chain on the large mountain bike clicked constantly. The E bike performed well. The GPS did not always work very well for us, although that may have been partially due to our inexperience with using it. We certainly would have benefitted from also having written instructions, particularly with respect to finding our hotels in the towns. So we would rate our experience with Vinitur as less than stellar.
We would rate our experience with Rad Reisen as excellent. George was very helpful in making some changes after we had booked a tour. We really appreciated his and Lorenz?s assistance. We will definitely book through Rad Reisen again.
