Wonderful tour!
The tour was excellent - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotels were all very comfortable with copious and delicious breakfasts, the hotel staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, baggage transfers were efficient (usually early), and there were lots of interesting sights to see along the way. The first few days of cycling were a bit tougher since we didn?t prepare much for the ride (plus they were hillier), but we soon toughened up and the last part of the trip was quite comfortable. The equipment was very good except for some rear derailleur adjustment issues on two of our three bikes which we worked around.
The .GPX files Klaus sent us on request were quite helpful at times, I would suggest including them routinely in all bookings even if they didn?t correspond 100% to our actual route (staying in different towns or detours).
The actual route was reasonably-well signposted with only a few ambiguous spots, often associated with detours. We ended up off the route a number of times but KoMoot and Google Maps got us through. There was a fair bit of off-pavement cycling but our weather was perfect so no major cycling difficulties. A lot of the ride, especially early in the morning, we were the only people on the trail we could see. We all loved the experience of being out in the fresh cool air having the forests and fields to ourselves.
All-in-all a wonderful trip!
