Great trip, but a little harder than expected
The Tauern bike path Krimml to Passau is a great trip. The scenery is magnificent. The hotels were very good.We loved the trip, but it was a little more of a challenge than we expected. Rad & Reisen rates the trip as a 1, the easiest classification. There were at least 3 serious uphills where we had to walk the bike for as much as a kilometer. In addition, the ride from Salzburg to Prienbach is 90km, which makes for a long cycling day. This trip should be classified as a 2. I think you should let your customers know that the trip is within reach for most cyclists, but there are challenging hills that can be walked if necessary. I’d also suggest that the overnights be in towns that offer a selection of restaurants. We stayed in Piesendorf & Prienbach which did not offer much choice of restaurants.
