Innsbruck to Passau in Autumn
This was an excellent 350 kms ride with plenty to do and see. The occasional inclines got the heart pumping but good fun. Recommend an e-bike if you are not fit.
Disappointed that we couldn’t book a higher level of accommodation - a couple of the hotels were pretty basic.
The shortest day was 32.5 kms and the longest about 55 kms. This was very comfortable, especially in 23 to 28 degree sunshine. On the last day, it poured. No drama, except we got a bit cold.
I think the Passau to Vienna ride is better and the ride around Lake Constance about the same.
Most of this ride is on dedicated bike paths or very quiet roads. Any local traffic is slow and very aware of cyclists. Quite a bit of the bike paths are unsealed but still a very good surface and easy to pedal on. The e-bike had front suspension but the standard bike didn’t.
