Northern Holland Serena
We understood this was a German English tour The staff on the Serena made it very clear they only wanted to do things in German Welcome introduction one and half hour in German only Staff introduced German only The boat only had 44 passengers and 8 had requested English We where given a short summery of introduction in English The Germans daily had an hour information session we got 15 minutes They had a fabulous book of pictures and literature of all the Northern stops German only If this had been also in English it would have been very helpful The Captains dinner and speeches German only English passengers not included at all I would think with a boat half full and 20% English they might have made more of an effort If you only want German passages do not advertise as a German English tour In Texel we had wanted to do the Brewery Tour We where told it was only in German and better if we just went on our own We where not able to do a tour on our own since it was all booked disappointing We did love Northern Holland and found the Dutch people very friend and helpful The maps and routes where great and very easy to follow Unfortunately on board we did not feel like they really wanted any English speaking guests Evening meal posted daily in German only We will definitely have to do more research next time We do enjoy the Bike and Boating It is a great way to see the country side but not with SE Tours
