Excellent scenery and diverse cycling
We boarded in Koblenz. The first half of the week was full of castles on the hills, large towns and ruins to visit. Most of the riding was on a scenic and quiet paths, but those were interspersed with sections of riding on paths next to busy and fast-moving highways. Once we were on the Necktar River, the traffic lessened. However there were sections of rough, bumpy gravel paths. These were through the woods and very quiet. The room we had was one on the lower level which turned out to be a good choice as we experienced many hot days. The staff on the Patria was excellent and the dinners and breakfasts were delicious. We liked this trip, but we enjoyed the Moselle (and Saar) River on the Patria even more and would recommend it over this trip along the Rhine.
