Danube Passau-Vienna 2018
A few problems that impacted our trip: 1) the front brakes on my wife?s and daughter?s bikes were partially engaged for the first four days of cycling ? making them slow and miserable. We are not experienced cyclists, so we did not discover the issue until the 5th day. This HIGHLY impacted our experience. My wife and daughter were crying after cycling only 20k and we did not know why. 2) I understand air conditioning is not available throughout Austria, but in July-August it should be a requirement that all the inns/hotels have fans in the rooms. It was sweltering and uncomfortable in all the rooms that lacked AC and/or fans. 3) you should clearly explain the guidebook colors of the path before anyone departs to help them identify the best route to take each day. We took the southern route into Linz and it was highly dangerous. Wish we had been told to avoid it.
