Five Experienced Canadian Cyclists
We were very pleased with the villages and scenery. (The itinerary)
We were surprised upon arrival at Bird Travel to discovere that Bird had forgotten about us. He was not ready nor prepared to begin our Nida Bike Path. He actually only came to the office that Saturday morning by chance. He was bewildered to find us there upon his arrival.
He managed to recover in a timely manner, but the route narrative had never been translated to English. He did it in a hurry - and it showed. They were particularly poorly done. (What we had, was a German document translated into English by a Pole. :) )
The poorly prepared route description caused us to become lost on our route from time to time. We made the best of it thanks to the provided map and the exceptional navigation skills by our experienced group. (Our seventh tour with you.)
The hotel in Solec was a little disappointing. It was not as clean as we are used to. There was no soap or shampoo available in our second hotel. This hotel had no menu, as promised in your literature; it was a set menu. The hotelier spoke no English.
The second hotel provided no bottled water. This was our first time in seven cycling vacations with Rad und Reisen where we have not been provided with bottled water.
We found it unusual that Bird did not verify who we were. They required no proof of who they were giving five bikes on that first day.
We continue to enjoy our cycling adventures. Thank you!
