An excellent tour that is excellent value
Friends of a friend recommended this tour and they were right. The booking process was very smooth and fair with all questions answered promptly and directions were clear. The bikes were all very good, not what I expected but perfectly suited to the tour and the individual and looked after by a dedicated bike supervisor, for whom nothing was a problem. Our cabin on Carissima (middle deck) was larger than we had expected, with its own en suite and had large windows giving us great views of the river should we wish to spend time on our own. Food was good and plentiful, vital after a days cycling and the lounge was a comfortable place to socialise in.
The cycle routes catered for both the fit and the not-so-fit, as the latter could rent an electric bike. The only problem for the whole trip, for us and others, was that the routes had not been recently checked and a road closure and inadequate instructions resulted in us getting lost. This was not too much of a problem as the countryside is dominated by the Danube and we took only an extra hour.
We look back on our trip with a great deal of pleasure and sense of achievement. Would we do another? YES.
