Danube Waltz 2019
This was our first trip to Europe and our first bike / barge trip.
We had a great time! Bookings and travel arrangements went smoothly, the vessel was comfortable and day to day living was at a nice pace.
It was at times a little disappointing to not find seating on the sundeck. Not sure how that can be resolved without crowding. While assigned seating for dinner was OK, it would have been nice to have open seating during breakfast so we could mingle with new found friends.
The upright, step through bikes were not what I had expected but adequate and up to the task. Cycling was easy and uncrowded through picturesque landscape. I applaud the route selections. Very much enjoyed the leisurely pace stopping at suggested locations for wine and / or beer tasting, food sampling or just mingling with the locals.
We only got lost once! The daily briefings and trip book were good if you paid attention! The optional excursions rounded out the trip.
My only real disappointment was the cap I purchased has broken (the bill had come unattached) after only one use.
