Itinerary Berlin - Copenhagen

Day 1: Berlin / Oranienburg
Individual arrival to Berlin / Oranienburg. From Berlin city center you can reach Oranienburg easily by taking the direct interurban train. Overnight in Oranienburg.

Day 2: Oranienburg- Zehdenick / Fürstenberg / surroundings, approx. 35 - 65 km
You cycle along the Oder-Havel-Canal to Liebenwalde. Continue along the Havel to Zehdenick. Overnight in Zehdenick or Fürstenberg / surroundings.

Day 3: Zehdenick / Fürstenberg / surroundings - Neustrelitz, approx. 45 - 65 km
Along the way, you will come across the legendary Lake Stechlin, which has been immortalized through literature by T. Fontane. Overnight in Neustrelitz.

Day 4: Neustrelitz - Waren / Müritz, approx. 65 km
A highlight of this tour is the Müritz National Park. Along the way, there is the small village called Ankershagen, where Schliemann, who discovered Troja, grew up. Overnight in Waren / surroundings.

Day 5: Waren / Müritz - Krakow or Güstrow, approx. 45 - 69 km
In the Nossentiner Heide National Park, you cycle through the vast wooded areas to Krakow. Overnight in or near Krakow / lake or Güstrow. A sightseeing tour in the Old Town of Güstrow and in the E. Barlach Atelier is a must.

Day 6: Krakow or Güstrow - Rostock, approx. 49 - 74 km
Cycle along the Bützow-Güstrow-Canal. A route you may take any train to Rostock individually if you wish. Overnight in Rostock / Warnemünde.

Day 7: Rostock - Nykøbing / Falster, approx. 40 km
Take the train from Rostock main station to the ferry harbour. The ferry to Gedser dures approx. two hours. On the Danish side you can enjoy the lovely stretches of dikes and trees along the most beautiful beaches of Falster. Overnight in Nykøbing / Falster.

Day 8: Nykøbing /Falster - Insel Møn,, approx. 65 km
Cycling along the coast and through easy terrain, you will reach the old merchant city of Stubbekobing. You can take the ferry to the island Bogø or you can alternatively cycle from Vordingborg to Kalvehave to the island Møn. Overnight in Stege.

Day 9: Island Møn - Køge, approx. 50 - 68 km
Traverse the bridge from Møn to Sjaelland. Continue to the north through the coastal landscape. Cottages and Manor Houses dot the surrounding countryside. From here, it is approx. 52 km to Fakse and approx. 68 km to the cliffs in Rødvig. Transfer back to Køge on your own by train. Overnight in Køge.

Day 10: Køge - Copenhagen, approx. 49 km
Today’s leg of the trip leads you along the beaches. You may want to visit the Museum for Modern Art in Ishøj. All of the other points of interest are reachable by foot from your central hotel. Don’t forget to spend an evening at Tivoli Garden or take a stroll around the old harbour. Overnight in Copenhagen.

Day 11: Copenhagen
Individual departure after breakfast. If you wish, we will book additional nights for you.

Itinerary Copenhagen - Berlin

Day 1: Copenhagen
Individual arrival to Copenhagen. Discover this beautiful and charming city and take a stroll around the old harbour. Overnight in Copenhagen.

Day 2: Copenhagen - Køge, approx. 55 km
You cycle through Copenhagen to the beaches of the city and then continue along the bay of Køge through small villages along the bike path to Køge. Overnight in Køge.

Day 3: Køge - Island Møn, approx. 50 - 68 km
In the morning you take the train to Rødvig (not included, on your own). Either your cycle along the Fakse bay to Praestø and to the island Møn or you head towards the western coast of Sjaelland to the Big Belt to Naestved. Overnight in Stege or Naestved.

Day 4: Island Møn - Nykøbing / Falster, approx. 65 km
Today’s bike leg will lead you from the island Møn to the island Bogø, by ferry (not included) to Stubbekøbing and on to Nykøbing or you follow the western coast through Vordingsborg to Falster. Overnight in Nykøbing / Falster.

Day 5: Nykøbing / Falster - Rostock, approx. 40 km
Through the recreational area around Marielyst, you continue to Gedser, where you take the ferry to Rostock (incl.). The ferry dures approx. two hours. The bike path will lead you directly to the city and your hotel. Overnight in Rostock.

Day 6: Rostock - Güstrow or Krakow, approx. 49 - 74 km
You leave Rostock towards southern direction and continue your cycle tour along the chanel of Warnow, following perfectly situated bike paths, to Güstrow, known for the late artist, Barlach. Overnight in Güstrow or surroundings.

Day 7: Güstrow or Krakow - Waren, approx. 45 - 69 km
You cycle through the slight hilly landscape of "Mecklenburg’s Switzerland" onto to Krakow. In the Nossentiner Heide National Park, you cycle through the vast wooded area passing the numerous lakes until you reach Waren / Müritz. Overnight in or near Waren / Müritz.

Day 8: Waren / Müritz - Neustrelitz, approx. 65 km
A highlight of this tour is a leg through the Müritz National Park. Along the way, you will have the possibility to look right into the osprey’s nest. Overnight in or near Neustrelitz.

Day 9: Neustrelitz - Fürstenberg / surroundings or Zehdenick, approx. 45 - 65 km
Back along the river Havel you will follow the young river to the lake Woblitzsee and continue through the beautiful landscape of Brandenburg. Overnight in Fürstenberg / surroundings.

Day 10: Fürstenberg - Oranienburg / surroundings or Zehdenick - Oranienburg, approx. 35 - 70 km
Again along the Havel to Zehdenick. Soon you will reach the city of Oranienburg in the north of Berlin. You reach Berlin easily by using the direct interurban train from Oranienburg. Overnight in Oranienburg.

Day 11: Berlin / Oranienburg
Individual departure after breakfast. If you wish, we will book additional nights for you.

    This is a challenging tour with some days having 80kms of cycling. There are sections of the trial where you ride on a dirt/gravel trail which means you can?t cycle as fast as on the asphalt trails. There aren?t a lot of hills until you get into Denmark. ...

    Interesting adventure

    This is the first bike tour that I have ever taken and it was a good experience. I found the ride long but doable. The bike was heavy and at times slipped gears which made hills challenging. Overall I would do another trip

    There were discreprencies between the map and spiral bound route description book, and the waypoints that caused confusion. Maps for the Denmark portion of the journey could be higher resolution, like the maps for the Germany part. No directions were ...
