Mainly flat, few ascents (Gauja National Park), mostly paved roads & bike paths.

Day 1: Riga

Individual arrival in Riga. 7:00 p.m. Welcome meeting at the hotel with Tourguide.

Day 2: Riga – Saaremaa, approx. 35 km + 340 km bus transfer + ferry ride

In the morning transfer to the largest Estonian island called Saaremaa, which has preserved all that is best about old Estonia. With little traffic and flat roads Saaremaa provides the perfect rural settings for cycling. Travel on picturesque roads along the Baltic Sea Coast to the village of Angla, where the iconic windmills are located. Transfer to Mandjala, check into the hotel for 2 overnight stays at the seaside. Dinner at the hotel (included).

Day 3: Saaremaa island, approx. 55 km + 40 km bus transfer

Enjoy a day ride across Saaremaa Island’s wild beauty – Sorve Peninsula, with a finish at the Sorve lighthouse. Historically, the peninsula had considerable military significance, dominating the Irbe Strait and the Baltic Sea route to Riga. Transfer back to the Hotel.

Day 4: Saaremaa – Tallinn, approx. 10 km + 216 km bus transfer + ferry ride

Take a short morning ride to Kuressaare, the capital of Saaremaa, a home to one of the finest preserved medieval Episcopal Castles in the Baltics, dating from 13thC. Free time to explore the town and the Bishop’s castle. Then transfer by coach to Tallinn. On the route stop at the Kaali meteorite crater,  which is listed on the world’s giant craters list and it is the rarest nature wonder in Estonia. In the afternoon Arrive in Tallinn, check-in at the hotel followed by a guided Tour of Tallinns old Town.

Day 5: Tallinn – National park Lahemaa, approx. 52 km + 90 km bus transfer

The morning is free to explore Tallinn. After short bus transfer cycling through National Park Lahemaa, which is one of the last unspoiled regions of the Baltic coast. The Nature is rich and unique. Here we shall observe thick woods, marshes, lakes and waterfalls. Here is the realm of mooses, wild boars and over 220 bird species.

Day 6: lake Peipsi – Tartu, approx. 53 km + 150 km bus transfer

Morning transfer to Mustvee. There you will start a pleasant bicycle trip along Peipsi Lake to Tartu, a famous university town, where Estonia gained its statehood. Arrival in Tartu followed by a night walk around the Old Town.The University was found in 1632.

Day 7: Tartu – Otepää – Sigulda, approx. 30 km + 235 km bus transfer

After a short bus transfer to Otepaa, a lovely place with many lakes, start cycling through the so called "Estonian Switzerland" and admire the environment. Finish the tour in Sangaste, famous for it’s 19th century romantic castle built following the example of Windsor Palace, and transfer to Latvia. Arrival in Sigulda, the most popular resort in Latvia, in the Gauja River Valley.

Day 8: Sigulda – Gauja National park – Riga, approx. 20 km + 50 km bus transfer

Today you cycle through the Gauja National Park to Ragana. Enjoy the spectacular views of Gauja River valley with Gutmana Cave, explore ruins of the 13thC Crusaders Castle in Sigulda and visit Turaida Castle. Next stop is in Krimulda to explore the oldest church in Latvia (built in 1205). Transfer back to Riga and join a guided city tour of Riga. Exploring the medieval Hanseatic town, Riga castle, St. Peter`s Church, Dome Cathedral, and the old Guild Houses.

Day 9: Riga

Individual departure or extension.

    Bicycles inclusive panniers

    The offered bikes are touring bikes with an aluminium frame and kitted with responsive brakes and gears. Plus: comfort gel saddles, flat-palmed grips, Schwalbe Marathon anti-puncture tyres.

    You can choose between the following bikes:

    • 8-speed-bike with hand brake and backpedal brake
    • 24-speed-bike with hand brake

    E-bikes | Electric bikes | Pedelecs

    By popular demand, we have now invested in a considerable number of e-bikes, much favoured by cyclists who love the great Outdoors, but prefer to let the bike take the strain. With an electro bike every bike tour is a breeze! The shiftable, low noise electric drive of our modern E-bike relieves you of some of the work and increases the pedal force up to 3 times. Acclivity can be handled easily. 

    IMPORTANT: please reserve ebikes early, as they are only available in very limited numbers.


    Bicycle breakdowns

    Breakdowns can happen even with new wheels and by best servicing. In a few hotels/guest houses we have some bikes on stock if you need to change them during the trip.


    Private bicycles

    You are welcome to bring your own bicycle. It is adapted especially to your needs. Do not forget to bring a repair kit with all necessary tools such as: keys, reserve tube and lock. Please check your own bicycle for operability upon arrival.

    ARRIVAL BY PLANE

    Airport: Riga (RIX)

    Shuttle bus services: The comfortable "Airport Express" are stopping at many hotels between airport and inner city. The first bus leave the bus station at 04:48 a.m., the last bus leaves the airport at 00:35 a.m. Buses depart every 30 minutes and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes, depending upon traffic. The ticket price is € 5,-. You can book it on: www.airbaltic.de Alternatively, tickets can be acquired at airBaltic’s offices at Riga airport, direct from the bus driver. Tickets are valid for the stated date and route, for one journey only.

    Private Bus: individual transfer by car (meeting you at the airport and leading to your hotel): Arrival or departure transfer for a party up to 3 persons (having max. 1 suitcase per person) - € 30,- per transfer.
