Loved it
We absolutely loved this tour, paid for cat A hotels and we were very happy with them, one or two were really nice, one or two arguably a bit dated but all were clean and friendly and did all that we needed them to. The towns and cities that we stopped in were all beautiful and interesting and had plenty of good restaurants. The route was easy to follow, the arrows are generally the best way but I found it good to follow the instructions too as they warn of potentially dangerous junctions etc.
It’s a beautiful part of the world and this is a great way to see it, I went with my wife and our 12 year old son, I’m a keen cyclist but they are not, however we all coped fine with the distances, there’s only 1 hill on the route which plenty of people were pushing their bikes up.
Really nothing much to criticise here, only thing I can think of is that I would have liked more information prior to arrival about collecting the hire bikes, last year we did the Danube tour and had to collect bikes the day before we started cycling, so we were expecting the same here, as it turned out there was nothing to worry about as the bikes were waiting at the hotel on the Sunday morning and we were given all the information we needed at a welcome meeting.
I absolutely recommend this tour, my tip would be to book a week’s beach holiday afterwards If you can, these cycling tours are awesome but the prospect of a bit of relaxation afterwards makes them even better.
