Rad+ Reisen communications were excellent pre trip. I believe the information pack needs attention. Gathering up city maps, and putting them in a pack is irrelevant if you can not join the map to other information. Giving English speaking people German map books is very frustrating. There was only 1 instruction book per couple. What happens if someone is left behind and takes a wrong turn? and doesn’t have the instructions? This happened. I expect the instruction book has been translated. There are ways of "expressing" instructions in English, that are not a simple translation. It seemed to me that it was constantly a 2 step process. Reading the instruction did not give comprehension necessarily. We biked many kilometres sometimes before we realised there was an error. Quite often signage to the Via was scarce.
Hotels varied in quality hugely. This was alright over all, but I sometimes wondered whether R and R realised just how much difference there was. Our first night in Augsburg was good, but the staff were not careful enough with dinner instructions and we were completely lost for some time. We had one night in the Turmwirt in Auer, which was really poor. I would recommend not using this Hotel. It does not do your company any good. I saw the other Hotel there, the Armedus, and that was quite clearly very nice by comparison. A good night in the Grand in Trento, which was just lovely. Hotel San Marco was an OK Hotel, but the breakfast could not have been more plain. The counter service lacked care, and we ended up being late for our dinner booking due to cursory instructions. The city Hotel In Merano was excellent. Beautiful 3 course meal (the best), and breakfast, just fabulous. Our rooms were like small apartments. The movement of our luggage from Hotel to Hotel was faultless. When we needed assistance with a bike and support, once again excellent. Transport and support across the Alps, excellent. All and all a wonderful experience. My comments are intended for your team to give better service to new customers!
