Day 1: Cochem
Individual arrival. Embarkation as from 2 p.m., the crew will welcome you on board.
Day 2: Cochem - Beilstein - Traben Trarbach - Bernkastel Kues, approx. 28 - 51 km
The ship will bring you to Beilstein. There you can visit the famous black madonna in a chapell. The bike tour starts here and you cycle along the river Mosel. You reach Traben Trarbach with its world famous architecture. After the sightseeing in Traben you get on the ship and it will bring you to the last stop of the day Bernkastel. It is a lively, historic and scenic village.
Day 3: Bernkastel Kues / Trip to Daun, approx. 62 km
Today we will leave the river and the vineyards. With a bus we explore the city Daun. Here we start to cycle our route above bridges and along volcanic crater lakes. At the afternoon we make a break in a small village where we enjoy some ice cream at a sidewalk café.
Day 4: Bernkastel Kues - Neumagen - Schweig - Trier, approx. 28 - 54 km
This day we pass the villages Brauneberg, Piesport and Trittenheim. Piespot is famous for the excellent white wine. Trittenheim is surrounded by some big wine fields. At the early afternoon we will reach Neumagen which was an important center for the wine production in the roman period. In Neumagen you can go on board or you cycle until Schweig. In Schweig you go on board and the ship will bring you to Trier. It is the oldest city in Germany and an interesting city with a lot of universities.
Day 5: Trier - Saarburg, approx. 28 km
At the start of the day we will have a sightseeing tour with our guide in Trier. You will also have some time to explore Trier by yourself.
After lunch we cycle along the rivers Mosel and Saar to Saarburg. It is a charming old village. In the center of the city there is a waterfall of 20m. Today we won’t have diner on board because you have the possibility to visit a restaurant in Saarburg.
Day 6: Saarburg - Remich, approx. 45 - 53 km
Today you’ll have two options: 1. Cycling along a river: it is easier but a little bit longer. 2. Cycling in a hilly landscape and a little bit difficult. But both routes takes you to Luxemburg. The river Mosel forms a line between Germany and Luxemburg. Luxemburg is small country but the capital is an important financial center (for the European Union). Near the village Remich you can visit an amazing and colorful mosaic ground.
Day 7: Remich - Schengen - Thionville - Metz, approx. 30 km
We enjoy our breakfast while the ship will bring us to Schengen. Here we start our cycling tour today. Along the Mosel we will reach France. Here you’ll see the sights like the palace of "Graf Lothringen" or the castle of Sierck - les - Bains. At the afternoon we will reach Thionville. It is a beautiful french city. At the old town you’ll find some beautiful garden and the gorgeous St. Maximi Church. From Thionville to Metz we will be on board. Metz impresses with its cathedrales, architectures and flying buttresses.
Day 8: Metz
After breakfast disembarkation and end of the tour by 9:30 a.m. Individual departure.
