Day 1: Amsterdam - Vianen, approx. 5 - 15 km
Individual arrival to Amsterdam. Embarkation between 1 and 2 pm.ock.Then it goes by ship to Vianen, a small fortified town on the river Lek. Within the canals and walls from the 14th century, the layout of the town has been preserved. After the wheels have been delivered in the evening, you have the opportunity to take a short bike ride around the area.
Day 2: Vianen - Schoonhoven - Kinderdijk - Dordrecht, approx. 56 km
Today you cycle over the silver town of Schoonhoven to Kinderdijk, Holland’s most famous windmill series - keep your cameras ready, it’s worth it. The last part of today’s cycle route you return with the ’Waterbus’ - from Alblasserdam (at Kinderdijk) you reach Dordrecht in about 10 minutes drive. The historic city center Dordrecht is impressively embedded between mighty rivers.
Day 3: Dordrecht - Tholen, approx. 40 km
In the morning boat ride upstream to Willemstad, a beautiful old fortress town and starting point of your today’s bike ride to Tholen. This place was once an island where the inhabitants of the Pisces lived. Today, Tholen is connected to the mainland, but still has the charm of an old harbor town
Day 4: Tholen - Antwerp, approx. 20 - 36 km
From Tholen you cycle through the wooded region "Wouwse Plantage" southwards to the impressive Kreekrak locks. From here you continue by boat. Almost unnoticed you pass the border with Belgium. Enjoy the diamond city of Antwerp, also known as the birthplace of the famous painter Peter Paul Rubens.
Day 5: Antwerp - St. Amands, approx. 34 - 49 km
Today your bike tour takes you a little way along the Scheldt, a picturesque tidal river. Enjoy the beautiful river landscapes. Your destination for the day is St. Amands - a truly magical place with beautiful scenery and undoubtedly one of the highlights of your trip. If you have not had a chance yet, try the incomparable Duvel beer here.
Day 6: St. Amands - Gent, approx. 52 km
During breakfast your ship will take you to Dendermonde. You should first take the time to take a tour. Especially worth seeing: The Beguinage with the beautiful local museum and the beautiful Grote Markt. By bike, it’s easy along the Scheldt to Ghent, a university town with a rich past. The city was already built in the Roman period at the point where the rivers Leie and Scheldt flow together. The favorable location brought great prosperity over many years. In the city center many old patrician houses are still preserved. In the "Lakenhal" (Cloth Hall, 1425) the cloth merchants met and handled their business. The most important church is the St. Baafs Cathedral, which was built in different centuries in the respective architectural styles. In the cathedral there are a number of masterpieces of medieval painting art, of which probably the most famous is "The Adoration of the Lamb of God" by Jan van Eyck. The berth of your ship is at the lock Merelbeke, about 30 minutes by bike from the old town of Ghent.
Day 7: Gent-Merelbeke - Lovendegem - Bruges, approx. 45 km
Start your bike tour from Lovendegem through the pleasantly flat country of West Flanders around Bruges, the beautiful city that is also called the "Pearl of Flanders". The old town of Bruges is extraordinarily well preserved. The rest of the afternoon is at your own disposal to experience the numerous sights of Bruges.
Day 8: Bruges
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am. and individual journey home.
