Danube. Cycling tour - September 2019
A well organized tour by Julia at Rad & Reisen. Thank you!
We particularly enjoyed the ride from Linz to to the area south of Krems. Lots of picturesque river and farmland terrain and castle views. We enjoyed our visit to the castle at Grein on the Danube. We loved the city of Linz and would have stayed there an extra.night if time permitted. The bike paths were well marked and mostly we did not get lost though we had some interesting discussions amongst us five as to which path or side of the river to follow. The booklet of the two routes (north and south sides of the Danube) was not so easy to decifer, especially when trying to figure out the extent of our daily ride. The bikes felt clunky, but we had just finished five days in Italy on road bikes which are much lighter.
All in all we had a fun trip and enjoyed the rides. We covered the approximately 350 kilo in 6 days.
