Route

Tour profile: level 2

The route mostly follows paved roads which are quiet if you avoid the holidays. The route does involve several relatively steep inclines. You should have a sound level of fitness. If you wish you can spend half or whole days on the ship and go swimming instead of cycling.

Day 1: Zadar – Island of Molat – Island of Zverinac, approx. 15 km

Embarkation between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in Zadar. The tour guide will welcome you with a welcome drink and a small snack. After arriving in the fishing village of Molat, we cycle from the jetty to the village of Zapuntel and back to Molat. We then set sail again and head for the island of Zverinac. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Zverinac.

Day 2: Island of Zverinac – Island of Dugi Otok – Brbinj – Sali, approx. 30-55 km

After breakfast, we weigh anchor and cross over to Božava on the island of Dugi Otok. The island’s name, which means “long island”, is no coincidence – at around 44 km long, it is often only a few hundred meters wide. We load the bikes from the deck and set off to the lighthouse of Veli Rat, which marks the northwestern end of the island. Afterwards, we continue to Brbinj, where we have lunch on board. After lunch, you can decide whether you want to continue by bike or by boat to Sali, the main and administrative center of the island of Dugi Otok.

Day 3: Telašćica Nature Park – Sali – Šibenik, approx. 20 km

After breakfast, we will cycle from Sali to Telašćica Nature Park, an 8-kilometer-deep bay in the south of the island. Here we take a walk past lush Mediterranean vegetation to the saltwater lake, which is connected to the sea underground. From here we also reach the up to 161 m high cliffs, which offer a breathtaking view of the sea. After our return to Sali, we set sail again and enjoy lunch on board. After a break for swimming, we set course for the Kornati Islands National Park and enjoy the silence of the national park, which consists of 125 mostly uninhabited, partly barren islands and islets. After a good four-hour drive, we arrive in Šibenik.

Day 4: Šibenik – Skradin – Krka National Park – Vodice, approx. 10-40 km

After breakfast, we will travel upstream on the Krka River and dock in Skradin, just before the Krka waterfalls. We will take a bicycle tour to the “Skradinski Buk”, at 800 m the longest and probably most famous part of the waterfalls. It is an impressive natural spectacle, as the Krka falls here in 17 stages with up to 100 m wide cascades. After a stay in the area of the waterfalls, we cycle back to Skradin to have lunch on board. Afterwards, it is up to you again whether you want to take the boat directly to the popular resort of Vodice or to cycle first to the 100 m high mountain Okit and then to Vodice.

Day 5: Vodice – Betina – Island Murter, approx. 25 km

Today we get to know a coastal strip with numerous offshore islets – from Vodice we first cycle to Tribunj. The picturesque little town is located on an island that is connected to the mainland by a natural stone bridge. After a break, we continue to Tisno, where we have a coffee break. In Tisno, a lift bridge leads us to the island of Murter, and we cycle along the sea to Betina. Betina is a place with a long tradition of wooden shipbuilding and here we also have the opportunity to visit the Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding. Our tour continues to Murter, where we have the opportunity to have lunch. After that, it is only a few kilometers to the bay of Podvrške with a beautiful pebble beach, where our ship is already waiting for us.

Day 6: Island Murter – Biograd – Nature reserve Vrana Lake – Tkon, aprx. 30 km

After breakfast, the ship will take us to Biograd na moru in about an hour, where we will unload the bicycles again. We will first cycle to Pakoštane and then on to the ornithologically significant nature and bird sanctuary of Vrana Lake (Vransko jezero). In the village of Vrana, we stop for lunch at the former Maškovića Han caravanserai, which was built in the 17th century when Vrana was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. Maškovića Han is now a heritage hotel and restaurant where we have the opportunity for lunch. Afterwards, we return to Biograd along Vrana Lake via Pakoštane. We set sail again and cross over to Tkon on the island of Pašman, which takes only about 15 minutes.

Day 7: Island of Pašman – Island of Ugljan – Zadar, approx. 30 km

Today we will “cycle” two islands at once – Pašman and Ugljan. From Tkon we cross to Pašman and then to the bridge that connects the two islands. We arrive in Preko at lunchtime, where we will have lunch on board our ship before enjoying a final swim. We then cross over to nearby Zadar, where our tour guide will take you on a tour of the old town, which is situated on a peninsula and surrounded by mighty walls.

Day 8: Zadar

Individual departure. Disembarkation until 9 am.

The shiftable, low noise electric drive of our modern electric bike relieves you of some of the work and increases the pedal force up to 3 times ... So you can now book a bike tour together with cyclists who have different fitness levels. Acclivity can be handled easily.

All Ebikes are fitted with panniers.

Note: E-bikes are a great development, but should be - due to their driving characteristics (high weight + high speed) - booked only by very safe and experienced cyclists with a very good sense of balance. Not suitable are electric bikes for people who rarely ride a bicycle.
