      Join us on a journey along the old trade route. The route connects the majestic cities of Prague and Regensburg, both of which are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List thanks to their special characteristics and historical backgrounds. Along the route you can expect magnificent palaces, gorgeous castles as well as almost untouched nature. Highlights of the tour include Karlštejn Castle, Koněprusy Caves and the center of the Chodsk region including folklore of the traditional town of Klatovy.

      At the beginning uphill, from day 3 onwards mostly flat or downhill. You ride on quiet side roads, forest and farm tracks. Paths are partly unpaved.

      Day 1: Prague

      Individual arrival.
      • Excursion: Prague by bike

        Prague has many names - Golden Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires, the Mother of All Cities, the Heart of Europe and many more. Thanks to a large collection of historical highlights and unique locations, Prague is one of the most visited cities in Europe.

        In just half a day, this guided bike tour gives you the chance to discover Prague’s sights and historical highlights that would take you 2 to 3 days to explore on foot. Whether you already know Prague or are experiencing the city for the first time, this tour offers both the classical highlights and places you definitely haven’t seen yet!

        Duration: ca. 5h, Start 8:30 am

      Day 2: Prague - Žebrįk/Hořovice, approx. 69 km

      The first stage takes you along the Vltava River and Berounka to Karlstein Castle, which towers high above the namesake town. The route continues through the beautiful nature reserve of the Berounka Basin before you reach today’s destination.

      Day 3: Žebrįk- Pilsen, approx. 62 km

      On today’s stage you’ll see some of Czech Republic’s architectural highlights: a 14th-century stone bridge, a beautiful water-iron mill, and a stunning hunting lodge in the Kornatickż potok Nature Park are among the sights along today’s route. The stage destination is the city of Pilsen, also known as the center of the Czech brewing industry. Don’t miss the local breweries or the beer museum!

      Day 4: Pilsen - Klatovy, approx. 59 km

      Today the tour first leads along the Radbuza River to the town of Dobřany before continuing through idyllic hilly landscapes towards Švihov. The romantic water castle Švihov is a special highlight of the tour! Following the Śhlava river you will eventually reach the day’s destination Klatovy. 

      Day 5: Klatovy - Roding, approx. 55 km + transfer

      Either by car or by train you will go to Domažlice this morning. Once there, your bike tour starts through the former border area in the direction of Furth. On the way between Furth and today’s destination you will cycle along the beautiful rivers Chamb and Regen until you finally reach Roding, a hidden pearl of the Regental.

      Day 6: Roding - Regensburg, approx. 62 km

      On the last day of the tour you will cycle along the river Regen to your final destination Regensburg. The route leads through various impressive nature reserves and past numerous castle ruins until you finally reach the historic city of Regensburg.

      Day 7: Regensburg

      Individual departure or extended stay.

      Arrival by plane
      Airport: Prague (PRG),
      Prague Airport - Prague Centre: Take bus 119 to Nadrazi Veleslavin and continue with metro line A to Malostranska station. Journey time approx. 45 min - tickets can be bought at the ticket machine.
      Or by Airport Express (AE) between 05:30 and 22:00 to Hlavni nadrazi, journey time approx. 1 h, price approx. 100 CZK.


      Arrival by car
      Public parking, guarded (no reservation possible, to be paid on spot). Near some hotels it is also possible to park on the streets, but those spots are not guaranteed and also not guarded and it is still in paid parking zone.


      Arrival by train
      Train station: Prague (Praha hl.n.)


      Transfers
      Transfers are possible from and to the airport/train station in Prague, as well as from Regensburg back to Prague, Prices see under "Dates and Prices".

        Note: E-bikes are a great development, but should be - due to their driving characteristics (high weight + high speed) - booked only by very safe and experienced cyclists with a very good sense of balance. Not suitable are electric bikes for people who rarely ride a bicycle
