Exceeded all Expectations - Excellent Bike /Boat Tour
Excellent tour aboard the MS Vivienne - Danube Waltz by BIKE + PREMIUM-BOAT Passau-Budapest.
It exceeded all our expectations from initial booking to disembarking at the end of the tour, everything was first class. Our accommodations (2 bed-cabin-Comfort) were spacious with quality linens, great closet space and storage. Good size bathroom and shower, shower pressure was excellent and unlimited hot water at all times of the day.
Food was amazing, usually 4 to 5 course dinner with choice of meat, fish or vegetarian dish. Breakfast was buffet style with chef available to cook eggs to order (this was very quick and efficient). Lunch when biking was brown bag with sandwiches already made or make your own, buffet lunch on board some days depending on itinerary.
The biking was exceptional - overall very easy/flat route on dedicated bike paths and little road biking (the few times we biked on the road they were quiet country roads with little traffic). My husband had a regular bike and I had an e-bike - both were well maintained and easy to use. (Note: The e-bike was heavier than I am used to approx 60 pounds, but had more than enough power to do the daily rides.)
Countryside and villages/towns we biked through were beautiful and we had plenty of time each day to stop and explore. Time in each city - Bratislava, Budapest and Vienna was enough to give you a taste of each one and there was an optional choice of tour (bus or bike) or you could do your own thing.
The crew and staff were outstanding, very professional, friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. (on our tour there were 140 passengers and 39 crew).
The Cruise Director, Leslie has been with the company for over 15 years and is obviously very dedicated / enjoys his work. He is very knowledgeable, his daily briefings gave excellent / detailed information as to what to expect on the daily ride, what to see, where to stop for ice cream, food etc. He was available for questions at any time and arranged evening entertainment, excursions and even a bus to take us to the train station at then end of the trip.
