Mosel Bike & Boat on the Olympia: Easy biking, comfortable room and great crew
Our 3rd "Bike & Boat" trip and 5th bike trip booked through Rad & Reisen. The boat Olympia was very comfortable. Our room was an upper "astern" cabin that was supposed to be a bit noisy (it was not!) but was larger than most cabins. Very comfortable. Food on board was good (though we wish there was more of a local aspect to some meals). The staff on board were excellent -- they went out of their way for us. The biking was very nice -- very easy (an ebike really is not needed), almost all flat.
Our only criticism: Biking the Mosel is biking through incredible wine country. Yet the Olympia?s drink package did not include any Mosel wines. Crazy! The company should include 1 or 2 (at least) local wine choices.
Suggestion: there was only 1 "addon" to the biking: the short trip to Burg Eltz. The company should add some addition addons -- the Mosel bike route is so easy, some riders would enjoy doing something extra (like riding higher to a viewpoint).
