An overall very good Experience
Our Danube Cycle Path Passau-Budapest is considered the most popular long distance bike tour in Europe & I can now understand why. It was our 1st long distance cycle tour & altho fit 70 yr olds we were apprehensive about this challenge. But it was great.
From initial contact with Lorenz at RadReisen, who promptly responded to alll my questions/emails to our final arrival day in Budapest - the trip went smoothly.
Sometimes when entering a larger town it was alittle confusing & felt there could have been better explanation, but overall the App was good.
Hotels were comfortable- some more comfortable than others. We didn't like the Orange Wings Hotel in Krems (not easy to find,very small room, no windows, but friendly staff).
Breakfasts were standard & again some were outstanding. Often we arrived at our daily overnight stop early (1:30-2:30) after 50-65 km cycling & our luggage was always waiting for us & our kind hosts always checked us in early. This allowed us time to change & visit the beautiful & charming villages & towns.
The bikes were solid & we encountered no issues. The tires were the top brand Schwalbe.
Overall a rewarding experience.
