Tour profile / Level 2-3

The tours, including the metres in altitude, are easily manageable by e-bike (12-42 km with 200 - 500 metres in altitude per day). All bike tours require participants to have a certain basic level of fitness and to be able to ride their bikes safely. There is always enough time to complete the tours. Our tour guides will inform you in detail each day about the level of difficulty of the planned daily tour. These are designed as guided e-bike tours.

In the Morning we cross over to Kos. We cycle to the picturesque Tigaki Beach, where we can enjoy a lengthy swim in the sea. On our way we pass the world famous archaeological site of the Asclipion of Kos - the place where Hippocrates, the famous physician, practiced modern medicine. We continue our tour until we finally reach the town of Kos. An entourage of cultural sights in Kos town will give us an insight into the town’s turbulent historical past: The Roman Forum, the Fortress of the Knights and the mosques from the time when Kos was still part of the Ottomans Empire. The evening is rounded off in one of the numerous bars and cafes.

Day 3: Leros Island, approx. 28 km

Early morning crossing to the scenic Island of Leros. Today’s cycling tour leads us to the fort of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem in Agia Marina and into the small alleyways of the town. Passing the picturesque town harbor, we cycle on to the seaside chapel of Agios Isidoros, a popular chapel on the island to get married in. Following the coastline we reach a beautiful sandy beach where we may stop for a swim and coffee. On arrival at the boat we cast off for Patmos or a nearby bay.

Day 4: Patmos Island – Lipsi Island, approx. 12-16 km

On a short panoramic cycle tour we visit Patmos and its grotto. It is said that St. John received the revelation during his captivity here. The world famous monastery of St. John of Chora is found in a village with numerous white alleys, 34 churches and chapels radiating heavenly peace. After a visit we cycle along the coast until we reach the port. We meet the boat for lunch and cruise on to Lipsi. Enjoy the afternoon in the charming harbour town and do not miss a visit to the legendary pastry shop!

Day 5: Lipsi Island – Kalymnos Island, approx. 9-16 km

In the morning you will take a small bike tour on Lipsi, which will take you almost around the entire island, which is mostly agricultural, with its many small churches and chapels and charming beaches. In the afternoon you will cross over to the island of Kalymnos to the main port of Pothia, where you will spend the night today. The old town of Pothia still clearly shows the former wealth of its inhabitants acquired through sponge diving.

Day 6: Kalymnos Island, approx. 42 km

Today, a round trip by bike on Kalymnos is on the program, on which you will get to know the whole island, which has made a name for itself far beyond Greece’s borders as a climber’s paradise. You will pass a surprisingly green valley for this barren island and enjoy wonderful views of the bay-rich coast. Back in Pothia, the ship awaits you for lunch and the crossing to Kos Town for overnight.

Day 7: Kos Island – Bodrum, approx. 24 km

In the morning we cross over to Kos. The last cycling trip begins here and leads us to the Embros thermal springs, where we can enjoy a lengthy swim. After lunch ashore we enjoy our last cruise aboard until we reach Bodrum. Here we can once more go for a walk through the lively and eastern old town of Bodrum with it’s impressive castle of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem and the remains of the famous Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. An evening meal is enjoyed together in the company of guides and guests.

Day 8: Bodrum (Disembarkation)

After breakfast disembarkation. Collective transfers to Bodrum Airport. If you wish to fly home from the Island of Kos your ferry will depart at 09:30 am. Please insure that your flight departure from Kos is no earlier than 1 pm.

Airport: Bodrum (BJV), transfer time Bodrum Airport - Bodrum Harbour approx. 45min.

    CUSTOMS
Our tour in the South Greek Aegean will start from Bodrum. In order to avoid any travel complications whilst crossing the borders, we request that all participants register for the appropriate travel documentation and visas with their local embassy before arrival on site.

At this point in time many travelers are skeptical about flying into Turkey. We would therefore like to inform you that all of these tours offer an alternative flight route via Kos Island, followed by a ferry connection to Bodrum harbour.

    ARRIVAL VIA KOS
If you decided to travel to Bodrum via the Kos Island, it is of utmost importance that your flight times suite the ferry times between Bodrum and Kos.

A taxi service is available from Kos Airport to the ferry terminal in Kos town. The travel time is around 30 minutes. The taxi stand at the airport is located directly outside the arrivals terminal. A price chart can be found at the taxi stand to insure you receive a fair fare.

Should you have enough time to spare, you can make use of the public bus, for a reduced price. The bus station is located around 25 meters away on your left hand side after exiting the airport arrivals terminal. This is where the KTEL bus departs for Kos city, via Mastichari. The ride to Kos city takes around 40mins. Tickets can be purchased on board the bus. More information can be found >>here

The ferry crossing from Kos to Bodrum takes approx. 1 hour. We advise you to be at the ferry terminal at least 30 mins before departure, to provide enough time for any border formalities which might take place. Departure generally takes place at around 5pm, enabling you to reach Bodrum by 6pm.

The returning ferry from Bodrum to Kos generally takes place at around 09:30, enabling you to reach Kos at around 10:30 on the departure day.
The ferry costs around € 25,- per person/crossing (return ticket approx. € 32,-) and should be booked in advance >>here.

    Arrival by car

Parking: several parking possibilities in the surroundings, approx.€ 8,- per day.

The food prepared by our Turkish chef was the best we have ever had on a biking trip. The guides, Ali and Demetrius, could not have been any more professional and accommodating. They were the best we have ever had.
