Country roads, cycling paths, field paths, terrain is hilly with some larger uphill stretches. Please be informed that there will be more traffic on country roads during the summer holidays.

Day 1: Salzburg

Individual arrival in Salzburg. Check-In at your hotel and hand over of your travel documents. Explore Salzburg on your own.

Day 2: Salzburg – Bad Goisern, approx. 65 km + boatride Wolfgangsee

You leave Salzburg and cycle towards the Salzkammergut. The impressive Dragonwall shows you the way to Lake Mondsee. As soon as you have crossed the Scharfling and passed the picturesque Lake Krottensee, a breathtaking view of Lake Wolfgang opens up. From the Mozart village of St. Gilgen, you take the boat to St. Wolfgang. It is then only a short distance to the historic imperial town of Bad Ischl. On the last stage of the day to Bad Goisern, you follow the picturesque course of the Traun river.

Day 3: Bad Goisern – Lake Hallstatt – Lake Traunsee, approx. 65 km

The day tour first takes you to the Dachstein-Salzkammergut UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the region reveals its wild beauty. You cross Bad Goisern and reach Lake Hallstatt, which is surrounded by mighty rock faces and has a history stretching back over 7,000 years. From the eastern shore, you have a breathtaking view of Hallstatt, which is considered the "most beautiful lakeside town in the world". You then follow the course of the Traun River to Lake Traunsee, your destination for the day.

Day 4: Lake Traunsee – Lake Mondsee, approx. 65 km

Lake Traunsee stretches like a fjord between the Traunstein and Höllengebirge mountains. Cycle along the shores of the lake towards the ceramics town of Gmunden. Through the Aurachtal valley you reach the turquoise-colored Attersee and continue your ride to Mondsee, your destination today.

Day 5: Lake Mondsee – Salzburger Seenland – Salzburg, approx. 60 km

Starting from Mondsee, you cycle across the Irrsee into the „Salzburger Land“. Past the Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumer See lakes, the route takes you on a leisurely ride back to Salzburg. Here you have one last view of the magnificent mountains of the Salzkammergut. Your luggage will be taken to the partner hotel in Salzburg by 18:00 at the latest. You then depart on your own. You are also welcome to extend your stay in Salzburg.

    Bicycle breakdowns

    It can happen even with new wheels and by best servicing. With the rental bikes you will receive repair vouchers which you can present in our authorised workshops along the way. Should a repair not be possible, please contact our service number! In a few hotels/guest houses we have some bikes on stock if you need to change them during the trip.


    Private bicycles

    You are welcome to bring your own bicycle. It is adapted especially to your needs. Do not forget to bring a repair kit with all necessary tools such as: keys, reserve tube and lock. Please check your own bicycle for operability upon arrival.

    Valid for danube cycle path: For the return journey to Passau we recommend the reservation of the bus transfer or the train ride - some trains offer bicycle-parking possibilities, however those are limited and a reservation is necessary.


    Rental bike disclaimer

    If a traveller rents a  bike, he is basically liable for damages and theft. When booking our rental bike disclaimer, we assume liability so that in case of loss or damage to the rental bike (when properly used and secured) no financial responsibility must be paid. Excluded from this are only lost keys, batteries and chargers of e-bikes, as well as damage due to intent or gross negligence.

    With the busline 10 to the station "Salzburg Ferdinand-Hanusch-Platz" and then with the bus 21 to the station "Salzburg Grüner Wald". Ticket on the airport for approx. € 10,00 (45min) / Taxi for approx. € 18,- (15min)
    Airport Vienna - Cat B
    With the CAT to Wien Mitte and then with the Westbahn to "Salzburg HBF". Here you take the bus 23 to the station "Maxtraße" (3h 20min)


    Arrival by car

    Parking: parking garage Linzergasse approx. € 28,-/day (payable on spot, no reservation possible)

    Train station: Salzburg
    Train station - Cat A: by foot 10 min
    Train station - Cat B: With the bus 23 to the station "Maxstraße" (15min)
