Tradition, Idyll and Metropolitan Flair

Tourmap

Route

Tour profile: Level 2

You cycle on well-marked and paved cycle paths (Isar-, Lake Constance-Königssee- and Via Bavarica Tyrolensis-cycle paths) as well as on quiet side roads (only on short sectors on main roads) and a few unpaved but well drivable distances. A few short climbs can be overcome easily sliding.

Day 1: Munich

Individual arrival in the Bavarian capital, which lure visitors from around the world with many attractions. Especially worth seeing is the English garden with its Chinese tower, the church Frauenkirche, the Nymphenburg Palace and the square Marienplatz. Let’s visit one of the many Bavarian beer gardens and enjoy the hospitality and the Bavarian flair while drinking a beer in a 1l-mug (so called “Maß”).

Day 2: Munich – Lake Starnberg, approx. 35-60 km

Your first bike stage takes you south west of Munich via the lakes Weßlinger and Pilsensee to lake Ammersee, the third largest lake in Bavaria. Allow yourselves a little break in Herrsching to enjoy the fantastic view over the lake. Past the Abbey Andechs you reach Lake Starnberg. For those who would like to start the trip more comfortable can cycle directly to Lake Starnberg.

Day 3: Lake Starnberg – Staffelsee/Kochelsee, approx. 45-65 km

Along the east side of Lake Starnberg you cycle till Seeshaupt. Shortly before, there is a nice swimming area where you can cool off on hot days. A real insider tip is the fantastic view over the romantic Riegsee, before you reach the Staffelsee.

Day 4: Rountour Garmisch-Partenkirchen, approx 40-60 km + train ride

In the morning you cycle to the Murnauer Moos, the largest moor area in Central Europe. Afterwards you will cycle along the river Loisach to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There is the possibility to take the Zugspitzbahn to the highest peak in Germany and enjoy the unique mountain scenery. Afterwards return journey by train (incl.) to Staffelsee.

Day 5: Staffelsee/Kochelsee – Bad Tölz, approx. 25-45 km

Your today’s stage leads you along the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path to the Kochelsee. From here you follow the cycle path further to Benediktbeuern and Bad Heilbrunn to Bad Tölz. The health resort, well known for the German crime movie „Der Bulle von Tölz“, has a lot to offer. The love to tradition and homeland is still an everyday life here.

Day 6: Bad Tölz – Tegernsee, approx. 20-60 km

Let’s take time and take absolutely a look at the Tölzer market street or on the baroque double church with the two slender towers (“crown and Tölz”) on the Kalvarienberg, befor you cycle along the glacier green Isar towards Munich. Directly on the Isar cycle path goes through Geretsried and Wolfratshausen through the “Grünwalder” forest to Grünwald. The white pebbles benches invites you to stay. Today’s stage to Munich is rich in tourist attractions (monastery Schäftlarn, movie city Geiselgasteig, Hellabrunn Zoo,...). Alternatively there is the possibility to go from Bad Tölz to Holzkirchen per Oberlandbahnd (on your own) and from there to cycle to Munich (approx. 35 km).

Day 7: Tegernsee – Munich, approx. 25-65 km

The bike path Via Bavarica Tyrolensis brings you directly from Tegernsee back to the Bavarian capital. Anyone who wants can shorten the stage per Oberlandbahn to about 25 km (has to be organized by yourself).

    Bicycle

    Bicycles inclusive panniers

    Following bikes are available:

    • Unisex bike with Nuvinci transmission
    • E-Bikes

The NuVinci CVT special gear system (correspond to a 27 speed bike) uses a set of rotating balls and also tilting balls in a transmission. Tilting the balls changes their contact diameters and varies the speed ratio. As a result, the NuVinci CVT system offers seamless and continuous transition to any ratio within its range.

The offered bikes are touring bikes with an aluminium frame and kitted with responsive brakes and gears. Plus: comfort gel saddles, flat-palmed grips, Schwalbe Marathon anti-puncture tyres. All bikes are equipped with a pannier (saddle bag) and a handlebar bag/per room.

    E-bikes | Electrical bikes | Pedelecs

With an electro bike every bike tour is a breeze! If you had few opportunities to cycle over the last weeks or if you are not sure concerning your fitness, but also with physical disabilities, every bike ride is a treat! The shiftable, low noise electric drive of our modern E-bike relieves you of some of the work and increases the pedal force up to 3 times ... So you can now book a bike tour together with cyclists who have different fitness level. Acclivity can be handled easily.
