Day 1: Enkhuizen – Medemblik
Individual arrival in Enkhuizen and embarkation at 2:00 p.m. (on May 4, 2025, and May 3, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.). On the trip to Medemblik, the skipper will tell you interesting facts about the trip and the ship over an aperitif. Once you arrive, you will take a short guided tour through the historic center.
Day 2: Medemblik round trip | Medemblik – Den Oever/Texel, approx. 24-37 km
The first bike tour takes you to the picturesque village of Twisk, which will charm you with its historic charm. Back in Medemblik, the ship sets sail for the island of Texel. Depending on the weather, you may spend the night in Den Oever.
Day 3: Texel Island round trip, approx. 43-49 km
Texel Island is known for its varied landscapes and picturesque villages. The well-signposted Thijsseroute (40 km), which takes you through picturesque villages, beautiful landscapes and to the North Sea, is a special insider tip. Along the way, you can visit the Ecomare seal sanctuary (guided tour included) and a small brewery in the harbor of Oudeschild.
Day 4: Texel Island – Terschelling Island (sailing day)
Today you will set sail for Terschelling. You will cross the Wadden Sea, where you may even see seals. Instead of dinner, there will be a hearty lunch, served on deck if the weather is good. The route depends on the tides and wind. In the afternoon, you will reach Terschelling, a charming island with pretty villages. In the evening, you can explore the harbor with its restaurants and pubs (dinner is not included today).
Day 5: Terschelling Island Island tour | Terschelling – Harlingen, approx. 70 km
Today it’s back on the bike. Terschelling offers nature and culture, 70 km of bike paths, and four beautiful villages. West-Terschelling, the largest town, has numerous shops and pubs. The island’s landmark, the 400-year-old Brandaris lighthouse, can be seen from afar. Also worth seeing is the heathland area “De Boschplaat” with mud flats, beaches, and dunes, where you can observe ducks, stilts, and colonies of spoonbills and black-headed gulls. In the afternoon, the ship sails to Harlingen.
Day 6: Harlingen – Franeker – Makkum, approx. 48-58 km
Via Franeker, with its famous Eise Eisinga Planetarium (visit included in the guided tour), the cycle tour continues through the extensive Frisian countryside dotted with small villages to Makkum on the eastern shore of the IJsselmeer. If you want to take the long bike ride, you will also come to Bolsward, one of the eleven Frisian cities.
Day 7: Makkum – Stavoren – Enkhuizen, approx. 32-49 km
From Makkum, you cycle to Stavoren. The route takes you through the old trading town of Hindeloopen. With its old houses and canals and large marina, it is a popular destination for day trips. The longer route takes you along several Frisian lakes and opens up completely different perspectives of the landscape. From Stavoren, the ship then sets course for Enkhuizen.
Day 8: Enkhuizen
Disembarkation and individual journey home after breakfast (by 9:30 a.m.).
