River Po by bike & boat
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour from Mantova to Venice. Everything was well organised and all the staff were fantastic. . They made our trip a great experience. Special compliments go to the kitchen wizards who produced gourmet meals every night. And to our lovely guides Alex and Elena, who made sure nobody got lost and stopped car traffic to get us through busy villages.
The Ave Maria is a very comfortable ship. Cabins are reasonably spacious and offer plenty of storage room, the bathroom seemed bigger than on other barges. And we appreciated the firm mattresses.
Our only - tiny - criticism would be that the coffee and lunch stops were a bit too long. We would have preferred to get back to the boat earlier and have some free time before dinner.
