Leisurely distances on good paths with great food and accommodation
We chose this tour to avoid any cycling days with long distances. The hotels and guest houses were varied and all were very welcoming, very clean and served good food.
The documentation was very thorough and the app with real time tracking was very handy.
The bikes and luggage transfers worked well. The bikes on this trip were better than the ones on our Elbe trip.
The hotel at Passau was quite a taxi ride from our arrival at the railway station. The bike collection garage was another long taxi ride the next morning and then we had to cycle downhill on busy roads in the rain to reach the start of the cycle trail, a stressful start. On previous bike tours the bikes have always been waiting for us at the hotel, which is much easier and which we prefer.
Finding the accommodation en route was generally easy, except at the final hotel in Vienna. The directions given from the train station seemed to be designed to see all the sights on the way which we did not want or need. It was a stressful way to end what had been a good tour. A more direct route avoiding traffic would have been better, or a hotel closer to the train station.
