My partner and I had a lovely trip. There were some challenges, but it did not distract from the beauty and adventure. I will say the team could have been a bit more informative early on about a few things regarding the route, but I know as self-guided it means we have to do a bit more work ourselves. I will also say the partner agency was not very helpful to us when we discovered there would be bad (very bad) weather 2-3 days of our journey. We had to find a few towns we could stop to wait the rain out, and we requested some help if they knew of anything in particular we could prioritize. They said that`s not included in our tour. They were nice, but not very helpful. It felt a little underwhelming since we were literally stuck in rain storms on and off for two days. We also had no real instructions or orientation for the bikes besides a quick video. It would have been nice to have a hand off from a person -- also for the drop off. We never saw anyone from Fun Active Tours, just engaged with hotel staff. The luggage transfer was good and the accommodation was also good. It would have been nice to have actual double beds and not two singles pushed together (3 or 4 hotels did this). The navigation app was mostly good but 1 or 2 days it was pretty off in a couple of areas but we managed to figure it out ourselves. The bikes were good. It would be nice if helmets were included in the rental as it was inconvenient to travel with them. Routes were mostly great -- loved the secondary roads and cycle paths. There was one road that was not fit for E-bikes (very bumpy like super rocky and slippery) but we managed.
Again sometimes the route was off but not often. I think the hotels weren`t always prepared for our Ebikes. One even tried to charge us extra since we had them but we explained we were with a tour. Overall, a wonderful journey and we loved Slovenia. Thank you for the support on the custom journey. It was great to see more of the country. Also, besides Luca we spoke with Michael Benjamin and Urban so they helped book us as well. Which honestly was a little confusing, it would have been nice to just have one person to speak with.
