Every single member of the staff on the Olympia were fantastic, friendly, welcoming and absoutely nothing was too much trouble, we cannot praise them highly enough.
The food was also excellent, with staff ensuring everyones dietary needs were met, the vegetarian in our party reported he was very satisfied with the effort of making his meals as delicious and atractive as everyone elses. A member of our party is diabetic, and we had not requested a special diet as she manages this herself, however, she asked if she could have a banana everyday as she uses these in the incidence of a hypo. The staff tried their best to accomodate this request and then provided meals more suitable for a diabetic diet, we thought this was very kind and considerate.
The cold flannels waiting for us after a very hot day cycling were very welcome.
A couple of not so positive comments, the short notice change to our embarkation point to Kahlsruhe resulting in a very short time window to get back to the ship was very disappointing, and resulted in half of our group not being confident that they could meet the deadline and so stayed on board. I appreciate this was an operational issue, but nethertheless it was disappointing.
The route books are very useful, but obviously not updated quickly, we found the app very useful, but would appreciate the addition of refreshment stops and wild swimming stops to make our journeys even more enjoyable.
We also thought the title of the trip was a bit optimistic, we felt we saw many more castles and cathedrals on our trip on the saar and moselle trip.
We appreciate that we experienced unexpectedly high temperatures during our holiday, but the air conditioning was struggling to cope onboard, something that will need addressing as temperatures continue to increase.
