A very good tour, with some suggestions for improvement
This was a very satisfying tour, with the description matching the reality, ie an easy, flat cycle in pretty surroundings. The first day was as described, involving a lot of urban landscape and it did require full use of the app for navigation. The accommodation was mostly very good, with one outstanding hotel, La Pyramide at Vienne, and one exceptional hotel, Le Sphinx at Montelimar. The first hotel in Lyon had a very small room and it was only just possible for us to open our suitcases, however we were aware that this was not the normal hotel for a Category A tour and we had been given an discount at the outset. The last tow hotels had relatively late check in , 4pm and 4.30pm, which would have been difficult if the weather was very poor.
We have two suggestions. Firstly, mobile-phone holders should be provided as standard on bikes as the app is necessary for navigation. It is not appropriate for customers to be expected to provide and install their own mobile phone holders. Secondly, we paid additionally for paper copies of the route however the charge of ?75 was excessive for what was provided. I note that your partner Scape provide the exact same documentation for ?30 extra.
