Jamieson/Truninger - Berlin to Copenhagen 2015
Fantastic journey from Berlin through the German lake district to Rostock and then the coastal strip of eastern Denmark to Copenhagen.Services were all to expectation (very good) and the facilities good.Only aspect I could suggest for improvement is the route direction, mapping with directions provided. It was challenging to try and read the text instruction and then relate them to the appropriate map, which was typically several pages away in the document. I used my own GPS (Garmin EDGE Touring Plus) and it made the navigation so much easier - except when it selected a different routing between waypoints than the official route proposed. I was using the English manual and there are likely some translation difficulties but overall attempt at providing background information was good. Actual issue was reconciling written instructions to actual map displays. The maps in the Mecklenburger Radtour book were not as good quality as those on the Publicpress - Die Karten mit der Sonne foldout map (also provided). Mapping was adequate just challenging at times.We have done European tours in 2014 and 2015 and look forward to more - the non-guided cycle tour option suits us well, no worries about finding daily accommodation and the capability of bringing enough luggage for different conditions that are possible.
