Accommodation
in stein am Rhein at hotel Adler was not a good experience. The welcome was not friendly and we felt not very welcome , breakfast was average, the restaurant was overpriced for the food we received - certainly food was not of particular high quality as they had advertised. This was only disappointment in accommodations of our trip- all other hotels and guest houses were excellent. Might add that having to cycle up hill at the end of the day to the hotel park in uberlingen was hard but worth the effort since beautiful view and rooms.
Mapping
Should be better- we have done other trips by boat and barge and the maps for the konstanz ride were lacking in detail- we had to work out routes on our own especially as we cycled into the various towns en route. You can do better!! A GPS was helpful but as we come from overseas ( Canada) usually we do not have the luxury of data on our phones since it is very expensive.
