Relaxing and enjoyable ride along the Danube
Everything went very smoothly on the cycle tour. We enjoyed the ride. The terrain was flat and on cycle paths so it was not difficult. In retrospect we would have liked to have spent an extra night in Passau to see more of the town before we began our ride (that’s our problem). Accommodation was good overall, but accommodation and board in Grein was unacceptable and below standard. Our visit to the Benedictine Abbey at Melk was disappointing because of the large number of visitors (tour groups?). It was not worth the time, effort and money we spent to see it. Maybe future cyclists should be warned!
