The hotel accommodation and breakfasts were good.
The bike handover needs to be better organised and bikes need front suspension as the tracks and roads are pretty lumpy in parts. The map book was in german which was useless. We had a merry time on day one getting lost a few times but found our way back on track. The first few days were a bit featureless but after that it improved dramatically. Unfortunately the route is designed to avoid towns and villages so consequently you miss out on coffee and lunch options on most days unless you go off track which requires prior knowledge of these stops. Some of the hills were steep and required a walk. A bonus was the last few hotels had swimming pools which was a great relief after a hard day in the hot sun. Overall a good trip with excellent friendly service in moving the luggage and getting us over the alpine passes.
