A great introductory tour to cycling and the joys of the Danube river
This was our first organised cycling tour. I had been intending to cycle on my own down the Danube without making any pre-bookings but, when my wife decided to accompany me, i decided I had better be a bit more organised and began researching cycle tours on the internet. The RAD+REISEN offering seemed an ideal compromise between cycling and other opportunities to enjoy the trip. And with the added benefit that, should we elect to miss a day’s cycling, we could rest in comfort on the river boat Carissima. Even though I booked quite late I was lucky to get a cabin onboard. Although the weather was not so good during the week of our holiday, it was a most enjoyable time. Highlights included good company, very comfortable cabin (even though at lower level), excellent food and plenty of it, and comprehensive daily briefings. My only negative comment would be that the optional activities we selected, and paid for, were a bit too ’touristic’ for us. We should probably have expected this and perhaps made our own arrangements (a learning for next time!). However, overall a great holiday. Thank you R+R
