October 6-14 Team Mackie-Donau Radreisen
We had a great trip. Eight of us traveled from Salt lake City Utah. Only one of us was a regular biker, but we all are fit, and only one of our group used an electric bike from Passau to Vienna. The biking was physically very easy. We had a little rain the first two days, but good weather for the remainder of the trip. We arrived in Passau on Friday at 3PM and our bikes had already been delivered to the hotel from the Globus bike garage in Passau. We found one bike needed a major repair even before the trip began, and the biker with an electric bike received a 21 speed touring bike, which had to be exchanged the evening before the trip. We had no flat tires along the way and almost all the route was on bike paths or small roads ith minimal traffic. Getting into Vienna was easy. Most of the hotels were very good, but the hotel in Vienna was at most 2.5 stars. Overall we had 5 star hotels on two nights and 4 star hotels on other nights except Vienna. We have used Moseltouristrek in the past for a trip on the Mosel river and I would rate RadReisen a litte better organized than the Mosel group.
We will use Radreisen again next year for a trip into the Alps-but with electric bikes for the climbs!!!
