Adult Family Vacation with Significant Others - Solved!
We are siblings, in our 50s and 60s, with our significant others, who were looking for a change of scenery, a little activity and a chance to spend time with our seldom seen siblings. Take a group of older siblings and their spouses, slightly set in their ways, not used to spending time together, and put them in a place they don’t know, with food they don’t know, in a culture they are not used to - what could go wrong?
This trip worked perfect for us:
- You had your own space. You had your own room and facilities, so not too much sharing. While biking you could choose to spend time alone or converse with the group. Once you got in to a town you were free to do activities together or go your separate ways
- All the logistics were organized for you. The hotels were booked, your cycle route was specified and trains/boats were booked in the areas less desirable for cycling. If bikes needed work along the way you could stop in any bike shop and they repaired it right away.
- We booked the half board option which saved us from having multiple hangry people trying to agree on what, when, and where to eat
- The trip met the varied physical expectations. Electric bikes made it so those not used to cycling could keep up with the rest. Getting fresh air and exercise every day helped everyone relax and just have fun!
