Overall, we really enjoyed the trip. We appreciated Julia’s help during the booking process. She was good to work with. For the first time in booking with R&R, we needed to make a number of changes and these were accommodated but were surprised to be charged an additional fee for this. We’ve booked at least one trip with R&R each year for four years and recommend R&R to our friends. Good customers should be cared for :-)We had some problems with the bikes. The gears on some bikes were not well adjusted and only certain combinations of gears could be used. The seats on some bikes were not acceptable (too hard) and caused a lot of problems. The hotels were all good and staff friendly and helpful. Distances advertised on the website were mostly much shorter than what we rode. That wasn’t too much of a problem but we’d much rather know accurate distances ahead of schedule. The GPS was excellent and the trip notes accurate for route instructions but occasionally not well expressed eg notification of a restaurant or feature inserted after other route instructions leading us to travel past it before realising our mistake. We’ve completed the survey for Ave and will send a copy to Julia when we return home.
