Excellent tour
The positives:
Great trip
Very well organised
Nice info pack with maps etc
Luggage transfer very good
Accommodations very good especially Krainerhof in Zirknitz (the landlady cooked us a superb meal with venison from their oven herd, although this winery does not serve hot food normally) and
Gut Pößnitz Berg (great hotel for 2 days, vast wine tasting -we nearly got drunk!)
What could be improved:
Some of the maps were incorrect (e.g. the last route map for Etappe 5, is wrong), some arrows were missing.
Not to worry, we managed and had a laugh, but the travel company might be advised to check their ARROWS on the whole of the route, especially in towns (where they seem to be non existent).
Finally 2 of the vouchers were pointless e.g the one for a demonstration at 10 am at the Oilmill in Herbersdorf. Despite fast cycling we did not get there until 10.30 and there was no one there to great us, as we were obviously late.
Finally the hotel Roemerhof in Leibnitz is a bit ?tatty? and not up to the standard of the other places we stayed in. It?s cleanish, but very basic.
However, everywhere we went we found that people were most friendly and helpful. When we were lost, locals helped us gladly.
So all in all we had a great trip, which is quite strenuous at times, with quite challenging uphill cycles.
