Deluxe Danube Tour of 6 Canadians.
On the whole my partner and I were very satisfied by the tour that you provided as it is clear on our previous answers on the questionnaire. However, two things could be improved.
1. Better information where the Landhaus Stift Ardagger hotel is. It was not clear. We had to ask lots of people.
2. The handover of the bicycles was poor. I had asked for an XS bike and was simply given a M size. I complained and after telling me that there were no XS, they found one with spider webs on it...Apparently it was a joke that they had no XS bicycles. I don’t think that it was funny... One of the cables was broken and I complained. They repaired it.
The two men then told us that they were giving us a "special" by providing each one of us a panier. In fact, they wanted a tip! There is a big container on the counter top with the word "TIPS" on it. We didn’t receive a pump but we received a tool kit which came in handy to repair a fallen brake pad on my bike during the trip. Our friends received a pump but no tool kit.
The explanations to ride back to Passau from the Globus Garage were not clear.Our friends who cannot speak German arrived one day early and came back from the Globus to the hotel by the busy road while we, German speakers, took the lovely wood/field route which is wonderful to get used to a new bike. Please provide a much better map with clear explanations. That would really help. The two men at Globus were helpful to explain the rural route back instead of the city road.
Besides the hotel in Passau (wonderful place ) , the handover of the bicycles is the first impression of the trip and with these two men in the Globus Garage and their lack of professionalism, it doesn’t give a good impression of what is to come which was very good!!
