Fantastic trip
Slovenia is a beautiful country, this was our fifth trip with Rad & Reisen and we thought that in terms of the scenery that we cycled through it was probably the best yet.
Hotels were generally of a good standard, in one of them the room was a bit smoky but I can live with that. Plenty to see on the route, you?ll never need to see another cave after the caves at Postojna, and make sure you do the side trip to the castle. Most of the towns you stay in have enough restaurants to choose from, one night you?re in the middle of nowhere in a guesthouse, but the owners are lovely and the food and wine was great. Piran, the final destination is a beautiful place, we got lucky with a sea view in the hotel Piran, might be worth phoning ahead to see if they can put you in a room with a sea view as this definitely made for a great end to the trip.
Only minor gripe, in previous years we?ve been able to carry more with us on the bikes, on this tour we only had single panniers which was a bit restricting.
