Accomodation and route feedback
In general we are satisfied with the tour but we have a few things that we would like to comment.
Accomodation:
Hotel Atrium room was very simple and not 4 star standard. Staff and breakfast were good.
Hotel Marriott in Linz was far from the center and there was a staff shortage for the dinner service. Breakfast and room were good.
Hotel at Ardagger Stift was nice, but location was really far from the route. Dinner was lovely but breakfast was poor.
Hotel Revita, Mooons and Steigenberger were very good.
Route:
In general we are happy with the route but the accomodation at Ardagger Stift really broke us because we had to ride for many kilometres to get there, affecting the day we arrived and the day we left.
In particular we wanted to visit Melks Abbey but we couldnt have breakfast until 7am, so even leaving at 8am didnt give us time to get to Melks Abbey for 11am for the guided tour. Finally we arrived in Melk at around 12:30 and we had to board the 13:45 boat to Spitz at 13:20, so in the end we didnt have time for the Abbey at all. We understood that Melk would be a highlight of this trip.
We have the feeling that some days we had to ride very long distances and some days were much shorter. It would have been nice to have a more even spread of the distances to give us more time to visit places and not just riding from A to B.
