200k in 5 days. Trier to Koblenz
We were lucky and picked a week after the floods when the waters were down and most communities had already cleaned most of the mud and debris away. As we headed back to Frankfurt after our bike tour we notice the Rhine River bicycle trail was still under water.
The bikes were standard 21 speed, in good condition, and were all we needed. Bicycle mirrors would have been useful, especially on the busier parts of the trail.
The accommodation was uniformly of high quality and the breakfasts more than sufficient.
We had difficulty with the trail guide app. and I noted other reviews had similar issues. We've previously cycled the Danube and bike-and-barged in France and The Netherlands.
We'll be back.
