Trip with a family of four.
Our trip with our two sons, aged 9 and 13, was very enjoyable. The route is flat and easy to ride, and there are information centers, cafes, and ice cream shops along the way to take breaks and enjoy the tour. We found that renting e-bikes is a good idea for long distances, as it significantly reduces exhaustion.
One piece of constructive feedback concerns the rockfall road closure on the fourth day of the trip. Although there was a note in our tour book, we forgot about the warning and ended up climbing two steep hills, which took an extra 3-4 hours to reach the Gasthof Zur Wachau hotel. An updated GPX file or a web map with a reminder in the app would have been very helpful, as we mostly relied on these tools for information.
Overall, we had a lot of fun and immediately missed being out in the open air riding our bikes after the trip ended. We are looking forward to arranging another family bike trip next year.
We also want to mention that the Rad+Reisen team is amazing. I asked countless questions, and the representatives patiently and courteously answered all of them. We truly appreciate their invaluable assistance in arranging our first-ever bike trip. Special thanks to Klaus and Marija for being with us from the beginning of our journey.
