You can never take the same bike trip twice
I've already been on this bike trip together with my son (now 16), and now this year my daughter wanted to join (now 13). It was an adventure, and an unforgettable experience for all of us.
Even though we've done this route, there are always new things you see- sometimes you go on the opposite bank of the Danube, sometimes you stay overnight in a different town. But it's always beautiful and there's always something that could surprise you. At any rate, it’s worth booking through Rad&Reisen, and it's very convenient when you're taking kids with you. Luggage transport definitely saves a lot of effort, hotels are well chosen and the vouchers for bike repairs come in handy; an occasional voucher for a bottle of wine also leaves a good memory.
Very minor things which I’m not sure how to improve:
* The lever fastening the saddle was jamming and I had trouble the first couple of days until I managed to fasten it; not sure how one would catch that though
* The hotel room in Pochlarn was quite hot being under the roof and it was difficult to sleep; granted, there was a heat wave, and these haven't been as common 10 years ago, but if it’s possible to pick some other options for the hottest summer days, this would make a difference.
Even then, we’ve had some amazing hotels for a Category C package- Revita Hotel Kocher in St.Agatha had an infrared sauna in the room. I especially like that the trip ended in the Roomz hotel in Vienna, because very often the last impression is the most lasting one.
