Prague - Munich

Between the Vltava, Danube, and Isar rivers

Itinerary

Route

You ride on quiet side roads, forest and farm tracks. Paths are partly unpaved.

The day of arrival is entirely yours: explore the “Paris of Central Europe,” relax, or join a guided “Prague by Bike” tour – a favorite activity of many guests. Our local guides will show you hidden corners and end the tour with a well-deserved beer.

  • Excursion: Prague by bike

Prague has many names - Golden Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires, the Mother of All Cities, the Heart of Europe and many more. Thanks to a large collection of historical highlights and unique locations, Prague is one of the most visited cities in Europe.

In just half a day, this guided bike tour gives you the chance to discover Prague’s sights and historical highlights that would take you 2 to 3 days to explore on foot. Whether you already know Prague or are experiencing the city for the first time, this tour offers both the classical highlights and places you definitely haven’t seen yet!

    Price: € 70/55/50 (2/4/6 pax)
Duration: approx. 5h, start at 8.30 am
    Minimum participants: 2

We cycle out of Prague along the Vltava and Berounka rivers, past monasteries, small villages, and beautiful river landscapes, to the famous Karlštejn, Bohemia’s mighty crown treasure castle. Those who wish can visit the castle and village or take a detour to the karst region with “Little America” and “Big America.” Via Beroun, the route finally leads to Žebrák or Zbiroh.

Today, the rolling hills of the Brdy Mountains accompany us to Dobřív with its stone bridge and historic iron hammer mills. We continue along the Klabava River to Rokycany and finally to Pilsen, the “beer capital of the world.” A visit to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery is highly recommended.

In the morning, it’s worth taking a stroll through Pilsen with its synagogue and observation tower. Then we follow the Radbuza River through nature reserves and past monasteries to Horšovský Týn and on to the traditional town of Domažlice. The town of the Choden people impresses with its own culture, medieval market square, and lively history.

We cross the former Iron Curtain border and reach Fürth in Bavaria. Cycling along the Cham and later the Regen rivers, we ride through tranquil river landscapes to the historic town of Cham and on to Roding, the “gateway to the Bavarian Forest.”

The Regen continues to accompany us as we cycle through wetlands, nature reserves, and the castle grounds with their numerous castles and monasteries. Our destination is the UNESCO city of Regensburg with its 2,000 years of history, stone bridge, imperial hall, and magnificent old town.

A relaxing day on the river along the upper Danube awaits. We pass places such as Bad Abbach, Kelheim, and Weltenburg Abbey before ending the day in Bad Gögging, near the mouth of the Abens.

Today we follow the Abens through meadows, forests, and past castles such as Train and Ratzenhofen. In Abensberg, Hundertwasser’s architectural masterpiece awaits us. We arrive relaxed in Freising on the Isar, towered over by the imposing Domberg.

The wild Isar River carries us almost effortlessly to the Bavarian capital. On idyllic river paths, we dive right into Munich’s city traffic and roll into the center. A fresh beer to toast at the end of the tour is a must.
