Today’s cycling stage takes you south on quiet roads along the Nile, through a timeless landscape where farmers still tend their fields just as they did thousands of years ago. Along the way, you’ll pass through traditional villages and date palm groves, which are perfect for relaxing breaks along the route.

The journey continues to Esna, where the beautifully preserved Temple of Khnum and a lively market offer a glimpse into the ancient heritage and the vibrant daily life of the region. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the H/S Nebu and settle in comfortably as the ship takes you onward to Upper Egypt.

Early risers will be rewarded today with an early guided excursion to the famous double temple of Kom Ombo on the riverbank, which is dedicated to both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon. Afterward, your ship will take you to Aswan, the gateway to Nubia.

After lunch on board, you’ll cycle along the west bank to a Nubian village, where you can meet locals, photograph colorful mud-brick houses, visit a community school, and gain insights into daily life along the Nile. The return trip across the river is on a traditional felucca, a slender wooden sailboat that has been carrying travelers for centuries.

The day begins with a boat ride through the Aswan Nature Reserve, past lush riverbanks teeming with birdlife and offering views of Elephantine Island. From a nearby village, the tour continues by bicycle, passing ancient granite quarries from which the colossal statues of ancient Egypt were carved. The tour then proceeds to the famous Aswan High Dam.

Take a break for a traditional Nubian lunch before continuing on to the Temple of Philae on Agilkia Island. You’ll then continue your bike tour to the nearby Coptic Orthodox Monastery of Saint Bakhamious, where early Christian traditions are still very much alive. Today, you’ll take an early-morning domestic flight (included in the tour price) to Cairo. Cairo is a vibrant city where ancient history meets modern life. After lunch, you’ll explore Saladin’s Citadel, enjoy the breathtaking view of the city, and visit the exquisite Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture. Along the way, you’ll catch a glimpse of Old Cairo with its narrow alleys and ancient traditions. In the late afternoon, you’ll check in at the hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Today, your journey takes you to Saqqara, where you’ll visit the extraordinary Step Pyramid – the world’s first monumental stone structure and a milestone in ancient architecture. Nearby, visit traditional workshops where artisans carry on ancient crafts, offering you a glimpse into Egypt’s enduring creative heritage.

After lunch, the tour continues to Coptic Cairo, a historic neighborhood located south of Cairo’s Old City, where ancient churches and synagogues stand side by side, bearing witness to Egypt’s diverse religious traditions. The grand finale of your trip begins with a visit to the Giza Plateau and the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, where you’ll stand face to face with the timeless Sphinx. Guided by your Egyptologist, you’ll experience this ancient wonder up close. Afterward, you’ll enjoy lunch at the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and explore its unique collections featuring treasures spanning over 5,000 years of history.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your flight home or onward flight.
