Istrian Riviera DELUXE by Bike + Boat

from/to Omisalj

Itinerary

Route

Cycling tours through hilly terrain with longer climbs up to approx. 250-600 meters in altitude. Suitable for cyclists who ride regularly and are comfortable with changing terrain. There are few designated bike paths in Istria, so bike tours take place on public roads, preferably on quiet side streets. Traffic is to be expected in and around the coastal towns of Pula and Rovinj.

Individual journey to Omišalj. You will check into your cabin on your motorsailer at around 2.00 pm/14.30 pm. Then enjoy your first crossing to the island of Cres. If the weather is good, you can stop for a swim in a beautiful bay en route and take your first refreshing dip in the Adriatic. The Venetian-influenced old town of Cres, with its beautiful alleyways and many churches, invites you to take a long evening stroll.

In the morning, enjoy your breakfast on board during the journey to Pula. After your arrival in the afternoon, you will explore some picturesque places in and around Pula by bike. You cycle via Galižana to Vodnjan and on through the fishing village of Fažana before returning to Pula. Here you can take part in an inspiring city tour before spending the evening exploring the city at your leisure. The secret capital of Istria awaits you with impressive evidence of its Roman past. Take your time for an extensive stroll and explore impressive ancient monuments, such as the famous amphitheatre reminiscent of the Colosseum in Rome, the Temple of Augustus and the Golden Gate.

Today begins with a crossing to Vrsar, where the heartbreaker Casanova is said to have sought temporary refuge from the husbands of his lovers. From here you cycle along the Limski Canal, first to Kloštar in the rural hinterland and finally to Poreč. The lively town with its long promenade and shopping streets is one of the most beautiful in Istria. In the afternoon, you will encounter the eventful history of Poreč at every turn as you stroll through the enchanting old town centre with its beautiful buildings from different eras, and you will also have plenty of time to swim and relax.

In the morning, you cycle along the famous ‘Parenzana’, a disused railway line, which takes you to Grožnjan. The picturesque artists’ village is a medieval jewel in the Istrian hinterland and awaits you with romantic alleyways, squares adorned with flowers and a variety of galleries that have found their home in old stone houses. In the afternoon, you cycle through many smaller villages through rural Istria via Buje to Novigrad.

In the morning, during breakfast, the boat will take you to Rovinj, the starting point of today’s cycle tour. You follow the old railroad line to the Lim Canal. Here you have a great view of this natural wonder before returning to Rovinj. Close to the town, the vast green wilderness of the local park is the perfect backdrop for an extended bike ride past picturesque bays where you can stop for a refreshing swim. After a pleasant morning on your bikes and on the beach, you return to the ship and in the afternoon, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, you have enough time to discover the secrets of Rovinj, which is often called the ‘Pearl of Istria’

Your morning cycle tour takes you close to the coast and mostly on natural and forest paths to Fažana with its pretty little harbour and promenade lined with colourful houses. The tour then continues to Pula, where your boat awaits you for the long crossing to Rabac, which is located in a picturesque bay on the east coast of Istria. The town boasts fantastic white pebble beaches, crystal-clear sea and a beautiful harbour, where you can round off your day with a sundowner in a bar.

In the early morning, you cross over to the island of Krk, where a final cycling stage awaits you, taking you from Njivice to Omišalj. The largest island in Croatia and home to the delicious Zlahtina white wine impresses with its varied landscapes. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a soothing mud bath in the bay of Soline, which promises relaxation, fun and original holiday photos. In the harbour of Omišalj, your ship awaits you for a delicious dinner on board, where you can look back on an eventful week and say goodbye to the crew and your tour guides in a cheerful atmosphere

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am. and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.

We reserve the right to make changes to the planned itinerary due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements.

Bicycle

Guided group pace: The group pace is adapted to the e-bike riders. In principle, it is possible to rent a gravel bike, but those who ride a gravel bike on an e-bike trip should have the necessary condition to ride at the expected pace. We thank you for your understanding.

Own bikes: It is not allowed to bring own e-bikes on board (due to safety regualtions). We dont’t recommend bringing your own trekking bike due to the fast group pace.

Rental bikes incl. Panniers

We provide the following bikes on board:

  • Gravelbikes
  • E-bikes

Please note that we can only provide rental bikes for people over 1.50 m tall. If you do not want to do without your own saddle or clipless pedals, you are welcome to bring them with you and have them mounted on your rental bike by your tour guide on site.

E-bikes | Electric bikes | Pedelecs

Our e-bikes are high-quality pedelecs, which are characterized by a relatively low weight and good equipment. With an e-bike, even steep inclines can be climbed almost effortlessly. So now cyclists with different fitness levels can go on tours together!

Additional insurance (bookable/payable on site)

Insurance against theft and damage of the rental bike (not covered: intentional damage). See price list for details
